The problem
Following on from our successful involvement with the interior design of the Gantry Hotel, we were invited to design a new artisan food store and café on the ground floor to complement both the look and feel of the hotel’s industrial aesthetic and introduce an authentic food hub and café destination within the hotel, from which curated produce would also be served in the hotel restaurants, bars and rooms. The Stratford Grocer would also be a convenient destination for locals and visitors to the area.
The solution
Our experience in hospitality and retail interiors allowed us to create an authentic feeling destination with features such as a cheese room, dry ageing room for meats, bakery, two storey feature wine wall and café to appeal to foodies in the local area as well as customers staying at the hotel.
We worked with local Grocers to define the brief to suit how they would create the best possible authentic food and drink destination in the area, where customers can experience sampling what’s on sale, watch food preparation demonstrations and dwell in the space at the café or bakery.
We also created the name and branding which ran through all the assets within the space including food packaging, bags, takeaway coffee cups and communications in store.
The result
Our creative concepts for the space helped to inform the layout and function of the final retail solution.
